| | | China Hi-Tech Fair a N.B. Success
| | | Shenzhen, China - Votemail Express Inc., a New Brunswick start-up software company lead by entrepreneur Mr. Brian Flood, signed 51 contracts at the China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) held in Shenzhen, China last week. Mr. Flood attended the 6th annual event as a member of the CANLink Global lead delegation from the province. Votemail Express Inc, an advanced online survey and polling application, is Mr. Flood’s second start-up organization coming out of the labs of the University of New Brunswick. "The response at this event was extraordinary. The business people here are fast movers and seem eager for our Chinese version of the software to be deployed in early 2005", says Mr. Flood. The signed contracts are with organizations from multiple business sectors including 18 of China’s top universities, large enterprises such as Sharp Electronics, and various pharmaceutical firms. Described at the "Big Winner at the Hi-Tech Fair" by the Shenzhen Daily newspaper, significant media attention was paid at the signing ceremony with Dr. Francis Pang, Chairman of the Concord Colleges of Sino Canada, located in Beijing and Shenzhen. His schools will deploy the Votemail software plus partner with the company to roll out the solution to 100 other education institutions. "We are very excited for the potential of Votemail Express in China and are most pleased to be working with Mr. Flood and the University of New Brunswick in this business venture", remarked Dr. Pang. The delegation has now moved north to Beijing for another week of meetings organized by CANLink Global. Michael Tilley, President of CANLink Global, says that the New Brunswick team gained a lot of attention in Shenzhen. "We had an exceptionally busy trade fair. Our member companies attended several pre-arranged meetings, made dozens of new contacts, attended various banquets, and meet the demands of the press. To top it all off, we had over 450,000 visitors come by our booth. We were featured in several newspapers and had camera crews following us around. New Brunswick IT is definitely on the map in southern China."
